What is Silver?

Silver: half safe haven, half industrial metal.

Silver follows gold as a store of value, but about half of its demand comes from industry: solar panels, electronics and electric vehicles. That makes it sensitive both to investor fear and to the health of manufacturing.

The silver market is much smaller than the gold market, so the same flows move it further. It usually moves in gold’s direction with larger swings, and traders watch the ratio between the two prices to judge which is stretched.
