A prop firm challenge on Bybit Demo means you trade in your own Bybit Demo Trading account while the firm watches it and applies the evaluation rules. On QATS you connect an untouched crypto challenge with a read-only API key and keep using the Bybit interface or a terminal you already know.
It is still an evaluation under your plan rules. It is not Live Funded and it is not the QATS API sandbox. This guide covers who can use it, the setup, the terminals that work and what puts a challenge under review.
Why trade a challenge on Bybit Demo
- You stay in the exchange interface you already use.
- Bots and terminals built for Bybit can keep working with their own Demo Trading key.
- QATS only needs read access: its key cannot trade, transfer or withdraw.
Who can move a challenge
- Only an active crypto Evaluation can move.
- The account must not have traded in the QATS terminal: no fills, open positions or working orders.
- One Bybit account (UID) serves one challenge. A UID already linked elsewhere is refused.
How to connect Bybit Demo
QATS checks the key with Bybit first and names any failed check.
- On Bybit, switch to Demo Trading and close every position.
- Hold only USDT, set to your challenge size. QATS accepts at most $25 in other coins.
- Still in Demo Trading, create an API key with Read-Only access and Orders and Positions ticked. Leave Wallet and Assets unticked; a key that can transfer or withdraw is refused.
- In QATS, open Profile & settings, External connections, Trade on Bybit. Choose the challenge, paste the key and secret and press Connect Bybit.
- If a check fails, the message says which: not Demo Trading, not read-only, open positions, a balance other than USDT, or equity far from the challenge size.

How the rules apply on Bybit Demo
QATS applies your plan’s loss limits, leverage and position limits and restricted symbols to the mirrored account. On QATS Crypto the plan sets a 10% profit target, a 4% daily loss limit, a 6% end-of-day trailing maximum loss that stops trailing at the starting balance, a 40% consistency rule and 2 minimum trading days. Leverage is up to 20× on BTC and ETH, 10× on large caps and 5× on other coins.
Only USDT perpetuals count, and a hedged position blocks a pass. In QATS you see QATS equity, Bybit equity, the profit target, daily loss, maximum drawdown, positions, orders and rule findings. New activity appears within about 15 seconds, and Sync now refreshes at once.
What puts a challenge under review
- Any deposit, withdrawal, transfer or bonus on that Bybit account. Starting equity is fixed when you connect.
- Removing the key, or a rejected or expired key.
- More than an hour without a sync.
Frequently asked questions
01Can I trade a prop firm challenge on Bybit?
On QATS, yes: an untouched crypto Evaluation can move to your own Bybit Demo Trading account. It stays an evaluation under your plan rules.
02Does QATS need access to my Bybit funds?
No. The challenge uses Demo Trading, and the key QATS holds is read-only. A key that can transfer or withdraw is refused.
03Can I use TradingView with a Bybit Demo challenge?
TradingView’s Bybit panel cannot trade a Bybit Demo account. Use the Bybit interface or a supported terminal such as Tealstreet, Tiger.Trade 23.2+ or ccxt and Freqtrade with demo trading on.
04Can I move a challenge that already traded on QATS?
No. Only an account with no fills, open positions or working orders in the QATS terminal can move.
05What happens if my Bybit key expires?
The challenge goes under review. QATS warns you 7 days and 1 day before expiry, so use Replace API key in time. Support reviews and reopens it, then you reconnect the same Bybit account.
06Is a Bybit Demo challenge a live funded account?
No. It is an evaluation, not Live Funded, and it is separate from the QATS API sandbox.
Educational content, not investment advice. QATS evaluations and initial funded accounts are simulated; payouts depend on eligibility, verification and the applicable agreement.
