Bybit and Binance Prop Trading: Exchange Data, Bybit Demo and Live Accounts

Exchange names appear on many prop firm pages. Here is what a “Bybit prop firm” can actually mean, and how each route works on QATS.

By the QATS team5 min read7 sections

Search for “Bybit prop firm” or “Binance prop firm” and you will find firms using exchange names for different reasons: some price simulated accounts from exchange market data, some let you trade an exchange demo environment, and some move proven traders to real exchange accounts.

This guide separates those routes, explains what to check for each, and shows how they work on QATS. Binance and Bybit are trademarks of their owners; nothing here implies a partnership with or endorsement by either exchange.

Three things “Bybit prop firm” can mean

Only the third involves real exchange execution. When marketing blurs the line, the terms usually draw it.

RouteWhere your orders goWhat to check
Priced from exchange dataA simulated account that uses the exchange’s pricesWhich price sets fills and P&L, and which instruments are listed
Exchange demo accountThe exchange’s own demo environment, monitored by the firmWhich terminals can trade it, and what freezes the challenge
Live exchange accountA real exchange subaccount funded by the firmHow it is approved, who controls the capital and which limits apply

How QATS uses Binance and Bybit market data

QATS evaluations track 17 crypto perpetuals and 33 TradFi perpetuals, covering index, metals, energy and stock contracts, simulated on Binance and Bybit market data. Symbols follow exchange-style naming, such as BTCUSDT, and the terminal shows the Binance or Bybit pricing source for each instrument.

Crypto accounts value P&L at the last traded price from the market data feed. Leverage is set by the plan, up to 20× on BTC and ETH, 10× on large caps and 5× on other coins, and every order passes the same server-side checks for daily loss, maximum loss, leverage and position limits.

Trading from Binance or Bybit charts

Many crypto traders read the market on the exchange itself. QATS Trade for Chrome, the QATS order ticket for TradingView, can also open on Binance, Bybit and other chart sites: press its toolbar button and choose Show the panel here. Orders still go to your QATS account, fill at QATS prices and pass the same rules and risk checks as the terminal.

The QATS Trader API and TradingView webhooks send orders to the same account, so a bot or alert needs no exchange account of your own.

Moving a challenge to Bybit Demo Trading

For traders who prefer Bybit’s own interface, an active crypto evaluation with no fills, open positions or working orders in the QATS terminal can move to your own Bybit Demo Trading account. QATS reads it with a read-only key and applies the challenge rules.

  • On Bybit, switch to Demo Trading, close every position and hold only USDT, set to your challenge size.
  • Still in Demo Trading, create a read-only API key with Orders and Positions access. Leave Wallet and Assets unticked; a key that can transfer or withdraw is refused.
  • In QATS, open Profile & settings → External connections → Trade on Bybit, choose the challenge and paste the key and secret.
  • QATS checks the key with Bybit first and names any failed check.
  • One Bybit account (UID) serves one challenge.

Challenge rules and limits on Bybit Demo

The challenge stays an evaluation under your plan. On a $10K Crypto account that means a 10% profit target, a 4% daily loss limit, a 6% end-of-day trailing maximum loss that stops trailing at the starting balance, a 40% consistency rule and 2 minimum trading days. Trade in QATS shows the Bybit state instead of the QATS terminal, including equity, the profit target, daily loss, maximum drawdown and rule findings.

  • Only USDT perpetuals count toward the challenge.
  • Your plan’s loss limits, leverage and position limits and restricted symbols apply to the mirrored account, and a hedged position blocks a pass.
  • Starting equity is fixed when you connect. Any deposit, withdrawal, transfer or bonus on that Bybit account freezes the challenge for review.
  • Removing the key, a rejected or expired key, or a long gap without a sync also puts it under review, so replace the key before it expires. Support reviews and reopens a frozen challenge.
  • Trade in Bybit’s app, Tealstreet, Tiger.Trade or ccxt/Freqtrade with demo trading on, each with its own Demo Trading key. TradingView’s Bybit panel, ATAS, Quantower and CScalp cannot trade Bybit Demo.

Live exchange accounts are a separate step

A Bybit Demo challenge, the QATS API sandbox and a Live Funded exchange subaccount are three different things. Live Funded requires a separate review, an approved capital allocation, verified identity and the applicable Live terms. For eligible Crypto programs, the managed transition attaches a Binance or Bybit venue to the account, and QATS provisions a dedicated firm subaccount and its trading connection. Traders do not send personal collateral or supply their own exchange key for this; once Live is active, real fills, fees and funding affect the ledger.

Frequently asked questions

01Is there a Bybit prop firm?

Several prop firms connect to Bybit in different ways: some price simulated accounts from Bybit data, some monitor a Bybit demo account, and some route approved traders to exchange subaccounts. QATS uses Binance and Bybit market data and lets eligible crypto challenges move to Bybit Demo Trading.

02Can I trade a QATS challenge on my Binance account?

Not directly. QATS evaluations trade on QATS (terminal, Chrome ticket, webhooks or API) or, for an eligible crypto challenge, on your own Bybit Demo Trading account. Binance supplies market data and is one of the venues for eligible Live Funded crypto accounts, which QATS provisions itself.

03Is a Bybit Demo challenge real money?

No. Bybit Demo Trading uses demo funds, and the challenge stays an evaluation under your plan rules. It is not a QATS Live Funded allocation.

04Can I run a bot on a Bybit Demo challenge?

Yes, through a terminal that supports Bybit Demo, such as ccxt or Freqtrade with demo trading on, using its own Demo Trading key. QATS keeps its read-only key and applies the plan rules to the mirrored account.
