Enable Market depth in Layout and choose Ladder (DOM). Click-to-trade is armed by default; choose Disable trading if you only want to read the book.
Select a numbered step to zoom straight to that control.
What the ladder shows
Choose order size and price step at the top. Bid and Ask refer to the selected symbol and pricing venue.
Size appears where depth data is available at that price. A blank cell does not mean the whole market has zero volume.
Watch quote freshness. New entries may wait when market data is delayed.
Click-to-trade
Click-to-trade on the ladder is armed by default: a click on a price can place an order at once.
Before clicking, check the account, symbol, side, and size. If you only want to read the book, choose Disable trading on the ladder; Enable trading turns it back on. Shift+L does the same.
The ladder disarms itself when the account or a risk limit locks entries.
Common questions
Why are some Bid or Ask cells blank?
Depth size is shown only where the selected feed provides a level. A blank ladder cell is not proof of zero market volume.
Is the displayed size the number of orders?
It is the available size at a price level in the feed, not a count of individual exchange orders. The selected step can group multiple price levels.
You’re done when…
You can identify bid, ask, visible size and the tick step, and know whether click-to-trade is armed.
