Hyperliquid Prop Firm or Your Own Wallet? Capital, Fees, Rules and Payouts

Trading Hyperliquid from your own wallet and taking a prop evaluation put different money at risk under different rules.

By the QATS team5 min read7 sections

Search for “Hyperliquid prop firm” and you will find two ideas mixed together: trading perpetuals on Hyperliquid with your own wallet, and taking a prop evaluation whose prices come from Hyperliquid or from another venue. They put different money at risk, under different rules, and pay out in different ways.

This guide compares the two routes on capital, fees, rules and payouts, and shows where QATS and E8 Markets fit. Hyperliquid is an independent venue, and nothing here implies a partnership with or endorsement by it. This is general information, not investment advice.

01/ 07

Is there a Hyperliquid prop firm?

Prop firms that offer crypto perpetuals typically price their simulated accounts from a venue’s market data. Among the firms we compare, E8 Markets names Hyperliquid as its source: CFDs, CME futures, and simulated crypto perpetuals on E8 Terminal priced from Hyperliquid data. Press reports place the launch of those programs around September 2026.

QATS uses a different source. Its evaluations track 17 crypto perpetuals and 33 TradFi perpetuals, simulated on Binance and Bybit market data. In both cases you trade a simulated firm account, not your own Hyperliquid wallet.

Trading your own wallet on Hyperliquid

Hyperliquid runs as its own blockchain, with orders, matching and settlement on the network. You connect a wallet you control, deposit collateral and trade perpetuals with the venue’s margin modes and leverage. Nobody sets a profit target or a daily limit for you.

That freedom has a price. Every dollar in the wallet is yours and can be lost, up to the whole balance in cross margin. You pay trading fees and funding on every position; Hyperliquid’s documentation describes funding paid every hour, rather than on the eight-hour schedule common on large centralized venues. You also carry the risks of self-custody, such as lost keys or a compromised wallet, and the technical risks of any blockchain venue.

Profits are yours in full, and so are the losses.

Trading a prop evaluation instead

On a prop evaluation the capital at stake is the fee. A QATS Crypto evaluation costs from $49 a month or $69 once. The account balance is simulated, so a breach ends the attempt and costs the fee, not your savings.

In exchange you accept rules. On QATS Crypto they are a 10% profit target, a 4% daily loss limit, a 6% end-of-day trailing maximum loss that stops trailing at the starting balance, a 40% consistency rule and 2 minimum trading days, with up to 20× on BTC and ETH, 10× on large caps and 5× on other coins. Every order, from the terminal, TradingView, the API or a bot, passes the same server-side risk checks.

If you pass and trade the simulated funded account, payouts are real payments subject to the plan’s eligibility rules, identity verification and a finance review, under published terms: 80% profit split, 5 winning days before a payout request and a $100 minimum request. Not every attempt reaches a payout, and none is guaranteed.

E8 Markets and QATS: where the prices come from

If the point of a Hyperliquid prop firm is to see the prices you already watch, the data source matters. Funding, the coin list and how prices behave in a fast market follow the venue a firm prices from.

Trading HYPE on a QATS account

If it is Hyperliquid’s token rather than the venue you want to trade, the QATS Crypto lineup includes a HYPE perpetual, HYPEUSDT, priced from Binance and Bybit market data with up to 10× leverage as a large cap. It is one of 17 crypto perpetuals, and the instrument catalog inside the platform is the source of truth.

Trading the token is not the same as trading on the venue: depth, funding and listing on a QATS account follow Binance and Bybit, not Hyperliquid.

Which route fits you

  • You want full control of venue, size and holding time, and can afford to lose the capital: your own wallet.
  • You want a known cost per attempt and will trade inside published loss limits: a prop evaluation.
  • You want prices from Hyperliquid itself on a prop account: compare E8 Markets’ current terms.
  • You trade with bots or TradingView alerts: check each firm’s published automation policy before buying.
  • You are unsure: rehearse the rules on the free QATS sandbox, which has virtual funds and the same server-side risk checks, before paying for an attempt.

Frequently asked questions

01Is there a prop firm for Hyperliquid traders?

Among the firms we compare, E8 Markets prices simulated crypto perpetuals from Hyperliquid data, and QATS prices its simulated crypto perpetuals from Binance and Bybit market data. In both cases you trade a simulated firm account, not your own wallet.

02Is a prop evaluation cheaper than trading my own wallet?

It puts less capital at risk: on an evaluation the money at stake is what you pay for it, while a wallet can lose its whole balance. Whether it costs less overall depends on how many attempts you need.

03Are QATS payouts real money?

Evaluations and initial funded accounts are simulated. Payouts are real payments, subject to the plan’s eligibility rules, identity verification and a finance review.

04Can I trade HYPE on QATS?

Yes. HYPEUSDT is in the QATS Crypto lineup, priced from Binance and Bybit market data with up to 10× leverage. Check the instrument catalog inside the platform for the current list.
